Connected changes for v0.7.0:
- fixed calculation of Switch node randomness
- added support for saving texts directly into dialog files instead of separate files (for lite version mostly)
- added external node definition JSON files (pro only)
This update is basically the first "real" release of connected, as there's now a free lite version and a 'pro' version. The major differences between the two are:
- In the lite version, you can't change node types or add new ones. The pro version has all the necessary code in the /Nodes folder.
- In the lite version, you can't save texts of the Text and Choice nodes in an external file for easier localisation.
To actually use the created dialog graphs in your own game you need to load the JSON(s) and create a node structure that will play the dialog. There is code prepared for Unity, with an example prefab.
In time, documentation for extending node types will be provided.
